Captain Obvious here: a win tomorrow would be huge 17:49 - Dec 11 with 1133 viewsIllinoisblue

Would be a real statement win and put us 4 points ahead of Pompey. Given our injuries I’d take a draw right now so long as there’s a decent performance to go with it

I'm fully expecting a loss and looking at bet365, so are the bookies.

I prefer to go into every match with the lowest expectations and even a draw will be a bonus.

Saying that, most my colleagues at Pompey fans so would be nice to finally get one over them.

Hope they just learn the simple lessons from the goals last week. That getting bodies into the box, in and around Hawkins or whoever is ploughing the lonely furrow through the middle and then putting the ball into those areas early enough will pay off.

We seem to have played the previous half-dozen games as friendlies such has been the lack of urgency and tempo in the attacking third.

Let’s at least have a proper go at Pompey or any another rival for once.

Yes, it's actually a really big game and a winnable one (if you forget our record vs rivals) even with our injury list. Like you I'd be alright with a point but if we can get a win over the line then, with Burton coming up, things aren't looking that bad. And that's what we all want/need, regardless of the requirement for sweeping changes at the club.

Lambert out.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

Yes our lack of intensity has been a theme the last couple of months. Be nice to start on the front foot and, gasp, maybe take the lead in a game.

Didn’t think Pompey were that good in the Cup game. COYB

I agree. He should be long gone by now.

The law of averages suggests we should at least fluke a home win against a top six side at some point.

It was arguably our reserves against their first team, and we only just lost

I just don’t think a win is possible with the injuries

Bishop, edwards and Norwood out from a team is pretty crippling... I know Norwood has been mainly absent this season, but he was the key player in the strong second half against Pompey

Strong performances from dobra and Lankester could change that..

Poll: How do you rate the new home kit out of 5?
