They were really bullish ahead of the game, expecting it as a chance to break their PR hoodoo.
‘First half thought we were a match for them, and we were unlucky to go a goal down. but it was a well taken goal and played on the vulnerabilities that we have at left back, and to some extent thorniley who are often turned by strikers and wingers.
second half they came out with much more bite to them in midfield and they were pressing us high up the pitch. i think this Ipswich side is vastly superior to the one that we played at Bloomers earlier in the season, and in the second half we did much the same as we did previously in that we let them dictate the pace and constantly played square and long without a great deal of movement.
Gabriels limitations defensively were shown up again today, and like with Northampton we missed Gary Madine bullying their centre halves who genuinely didnt look very good. Thorniley was turned a dozen or more times, and we looked vulnerable to me on both of our wings. Stewrt looked tired at about 70 minute as did Dougall thought we might go all out with a front four - nothing to lose, Kaikai, Simms, Yates, and Mitchell up front with Virtue dropping a bit deeper maybe.”

Maybe dire is a harsh word to use, but it's very rare that I think it's good or enjoyable.
Nothing personal and I don't want to jump on the bandwagon of slating Brenner, I just think, especially when paired with MM, it's fairly dull stuff. Funnily enough I do quite enjoy listening to Brenner pre and post match, discussing team selection and result etc, and the general job he does reporting on the club is very good. | |

Generally, the commentary reflects what the commentators are watching. It's dull, mostly because we mostly play very dull football. There's only so many times you can can say 'and that's another sideways pass across the backline' without repeating yourself. [Post edited 7 Feb 2021 0:56]

I presume like Brenner and Radio Suffolk, their local radio commentators aren't travelling to the away matches, so the only commentary available is the home commentary. |  |
