It's actually impossible for him to pull it back from here IMO 08:20 - Feb 10 with 1131 views | tractorboy1978 | Even somehow getting promoted (which he won't) doesn't counter balance the general ill feeling towards him and the complete disdain he has treated the media and in turn the fans with. It is so clearly the end and every day Evans keeps him here lets the rot set in even further. It's beyond comprehension.

It seems odd when such an obvious and, indeed, commonplace solution exists. That of changing the manager. Many owners do it to deflect criticism and keep the fans interested. It's almost unprecedented in the modern era for an owner to stick with his coach against all the fans for this long when there is such little success as a result*. It could be Evans is being kept in the dark about the true state of fan anger, or believes it's only a noisy minority on TWTD and a few other places. But he watches games at least sometimes. The man cannot be that out of touch after nearly a decade and a half of owning the club. Which says to me that it's a case of can't - one would assume for financial/budget reasons - rather than won't. The hit from paying up the bulk of 5-year contracts for manager and staff on top of the extra input required to support the club through Covid may be more than Evans/MEG can stand right now. * The Wenger situation was rather different. He had success under his belt and was still competing at the top of the Prem, not getting relegated. Cobbold and Robson was in a different world.

This is the overriding point for me. What planet are they living on? It's getting absolutely desperate and to see it at the point where the manager is actively showing contempt for the fans is heartbreaking.

Seeing as there hasn't maybe he'll decide to pull the plug now?? Here's me hoping

It's actually impossible for him to pull it back from here IMO on 09:20 - Feb 10 with 920 views | clive_baker | Sure is. It's a case of when, not IF. We've got a manager who has completely checked out from his responsibilities and is merely hanging on for a pay off. We've got a squad who look utterly frustrated, disjointed, like a group of strangers cobbled together with no coherent strategy. And we've got an owner tapping up potential replacements left, right and centre for the past 6 months or more yet not taking the decisive action that he's known is necessary. It's pathetic that this is allowed to rumble on like this. It's obviously heart breaking as a supporter, but to be honest the owner doesn't deserve success.

It's clear to me that Evans feels contempt for the fans too. That Mick cut runs very deep, even if he did come out floundering a few days after his initial statement to 'correct' his position on the matter.

Yep, that is exactly it. Given the manner he has run it in, he deserves to lose every penny that he's invested but unfortunately in doing so we suffer too.

It's quite nice that even some Posh fans are replying to the official club tweets of the interviews last night saying they feel sorry for ITFC fans having to put up with what are blatant lies.

Their commentators were absolutely bemused mid-way through the first half last night that we hadn't changed our shape.
It's actually impossible for him to pull it back from here IMO on 09:43 - Feb 10 with 807 views | Steve_M | Yes, the last chance of that was in November. He should have gone after last season but, given he was here in September, there was an outside chance that a good season might allow for a rapprochement. The last three months have been as abysmal as anything I can recall supporting Ipswich, the highlight being the four week break when we didn't play.

This had crossed my mind, maybe Evans just can't afford to sack him. But in the mean time the relationship between fans and club just gets worse and worse. That 5 year deal....bloody hell, what was Evans thinking.
