I still think Evans will let the club go bust.... 08:28 - Feb 17 with 963 viewsPippin1970

Yes hes putting money in etc etc. No way a buyer will come in with current circumstances unfortunately. Its happened before with other clubs.

I hope not but wouldn't be surprised.

Does he or his company own the training ground at Playford Road? Thats probably the main asset he can grab some cash back from if he sells it off for property development..

Ownership of that was transferred to one of his offshore companies years ago, 2011 I believe.

Firstly, why would he do that? It would mean losing every penny he has put in (ITFC has very little in the way of assets), plus garnering a load of bad publicity.

Secondly, why would no buyer come in if we were in Administration? All debts would be up for negotiation/discounting. There is a good basis for someone to build upon - facilities, tradition, support.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

Correct me if I’m wrong but I believe that ME group Is accountable for any debt. So if he was to stop funding us and the club got into debt with other parties his company would be required to pay for it.

If he has any intention of doing that he would no longer be putting money in now would he?

That's not to say he wouldn't come to point where he decides enough is enough. Then it would depend on whether with the capability to fund the club would be prepared to buy it. If Evans has a choice between losing everything and handing the club over for nothing to someone prepared to finance the debts, the latter is a better business decision.

I hope he does. There is nothing at, or about this club, to care about anymore

That really doesn't make any sense given the existing investment he has in the club and the ongoing money he is spending.

Surely it would be preferable to have a better owner instead?

Evans will not last forever. Unfortunately these doldrums make it feel like he will.

Despite my prior thread to the contrary, I don’t think he would liquidate us. He’d effectively be writing off £150m.

My issue with Evans are that he has thus far been unwilling to appoint someone to run the club for him. He wants to run the lot, but with the best will with his wider business commitments can’t be sufficiently present. Hopefully time is being taken because he is looking to appoint a proper CEO, and Manager, so that he can step back and own. This is the mysterious dark force Lambert refers to and couldn’t name. The bit of the club that is missing, which means Managers are asked to take on too much of everything.

The other thing is that Evans has made it personal for himself with fans too. Allowing himself to be drawn into conflict in support of Lambert, thus presiding over the total breakdown of the club.

It’s going to take a lot of fixing from here. Let’s hope the round table sorts it. Sounds like it could be the red wedding.
