Simple, he thought a few quid investment within 3 years would reap huge rewards when getting a slice of the PL money.

Something went wrong along the way....

Some as 99% of other owners. Hobby and something to do. Marcus thought he could make quick money from us and that at the time seem very possible. It quickly went very wrong

ME saw football club ownership as complimentary to his main business. It gave him credibility and a seat at the table to explore commercial options around major sporting events (tickets, hospitality etc.).

He probably doesn’t care. It was clear with the position we were in with MM in 14/15. He didn’t want to invest and was happy to chance getting to the premier league the cheapest way possible.

I've genuinely thought from Day 1 that Evans is not a football person, only a businessman. Someone told him about the pot of gold in the Prem. "Just appoint someone like Roy Keane and the world is yours!"

Naively Evans believed him and thought he'd make money easily, but for him it's turned into a wasted investment that he's put on the back burner in case it somehow achieves something or someone buys him out.

A extremely well run football club and near perfect football club can be self sustainable and possibly profitable. But they have to be run to near perfection, and it rarely goes smoothly.

You can see why they are bought in this country, Premier League money is scandalous.

Poll: Would love to know the opinions on here now of Lambert genuinely?
