England, Spain and Italy should be banned. 22:00 - Apr 18 with 1453 views | Mercian | From The World Cup and Euros if this breakaway goes ahead and any player from another nationality should be banned from representing their nation in these competitions. I know this is shooting myself in the foot but harsh measures are needed. This will give impetus to the players to turn around and say no, we are not playing in such a league. Denying Kane, Sterling, KDB etc the chance for international glory will soon wake them up.
England, Spain and Italy should be banned. on 22:05 - Apr 18 with 1403 views | StokieBlue | That doesn't really make sense. The governing bodies of each country and therefore by extension the national teams are nothing to do with this and have no power to stop it. Banning them would be totally unjustified. It's like banning you from the forum for something I've posted. What can happen is that UEFA can ban players playing in the super league from playing for their country. SB

England, Spain and Italy should be banned. on 22:10 - Apr 18 with 1366 views | vapour_trail | Don’t be daft. Those three nations will just have to pick from players not in the breakaway and banned by fifa. Chambers might get a call up. This isn’t going to happen anyway. Bit weird there’s still been no statement. The greedy dozen are not coming out of this well.

England, Spain and Italy should be banned. on 22:12 - Apr 18 with 1353 views | BloomBlue | That's what the clubs would love they dont want their players playing for the Country and to be fair are the players asking for this new competition or is it the club owners?
England, Spain and Italy should be banned. on 23:10 - Apr 18 with 1205 views | Marshalls_Mullet | Due to the actions of Russian, American and Middle Eastern owners of those clubs looking to break away? Seems a little illogical to ban England on that basis?

Success on the field doesn't matter to these breakaway teams. They have international appeal, they are marketable, they generate money. That is what this league is about, the money - nothing more, nothing less.

As should their home Football Associations. They lost control of the elite game in England when the PL was formed by they can get some back here. “You can play in the Kerry Packer midweek football league if you wish but you won’t ever win a World Cup” [Post edited 19 Apr 2021 7:23]

In my time following football Man Utd, Man City, Chelsea and Tottenham have all dropped to the second tier (3rd in the case of MC). They just happen to be the top clubs right now. Outrageous really - they want to kill competition. It's Harlem Globetrotters for the Asian market.
