Emails revealed how Trump tried 5 times to overturn election 21:36 - Jun 15 with 991 viewsElderGrizzly

Batsh*t crazy and it almost worked

At least five times, the documents show, the White House chief of staff, Mark Meadows, instructed justice department officials to investigate false allegations of voter fraud, including a conspiracy theory called “Italygate”, which claims electoral data was changed from Europe by means including military satellites and with the knowledge of the CIA.

The Guardian mentioned but didn't emphasise the emails sent to Rosen .
NYTimes say Trumps staff were sending communiques about voter fraud conspiracies to Rosen before he replaced Barr.
Rosen was picked because Trump thought he was compliant.
He wasn't. He dismissed the requests.

They are still auditing the GE votes in Maricopa County, Arizona (Phoenix) on the instruction of Republican state senate leaders. And are preparing to do the same in Fulton County, Georgia (Atlanta).

Meanwhile Arizona and Georgia rank 46th and 26th in education and 21st and 43rd in health care out of all the states. I can't believe that's a coincidence.

Just as in the UK, US righties don't like the lawful democratic process.

Perhaps the Republicans could find some way to prorogue their lower house, or block their elected legislators from voting on new laws.

And given the rhetoric spewing out from righties in both sides of the Atlantic, don't be surprised if one of them burns down their Parliamentary building at some point.

"Perhaps the Republicans could find some way to prorogue their lower house, or block their elected legislators from voting on new laws. "

The Republicans have already achieved that.

Both houses have to pass any new laws. If one says NO then the law dies.
Fiscal legislation, eg tax giveaways and stimulus cheques, can be passed in the senate by a simple majority.
Any other law needs 60 votes in the senate because of the fillibuster.

If the Democrats don't get rid of the fillibuster then thy are effectively impotent. The Republicans will obstruct everything so they can claim Biden failed to pass the laws he promised in 2020 election. They will use this 'failed' president mantra in the 2022 mid-terms in an effort to win back control of both houses.

Don't believe a word I say. I'm only kidding. Or am I?
