This Euros set-up with multiple host countries 21:43 - Jun 19 with 1315 views | Illinoisblue | Is this how it would have been if Covid wasn’t a thing? Have to say, not a fan at all. This just feels like a weird tournament. Some games at capacity, others less than half full.

This Euros set-up with multiple host countries on 22:02 - Jun 19 with 1268 views | Swansea_Blue | Yeah that was the original plan. It’s the ‘brain’ child of Platini to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the competition (last year). Obviously the stadia would all have been full if not for Covid. I reckon it would have worked quite well in normal times. There’d have been some great road trips, but expensive for fans of course. It seems a bit pointless with the lack of fans; may as well play in one country.

I think I still prefer the one (or two very close) countries format. Having so many "home" teams makes it a bit weird for the ones who don't get home matches. At least in a normal tournament everyone is away except the organisers who should get that little advantage. SB

They should at least had group matches played at reasonably close stadiums. Hamden and Wembley is OK but Rome and Baku is a joke.

I'm a big fan of the Seville and Saint Petersburg group, the very Southwest and Northeast of Europe.
| I survived Ipswich 0-0 Burton |

Rome’s pretty handy for the Italians to be fair. That group works well for all of them except Wales. Although I’m not sure why Bacu is a venue; one in Switzerland or Turkey would be better (Bacu is a nice stadium though). Hampden and Wembley isn’t the best for Croatia or the Czechs. And I’m not sure why Russia are hosting 2 groups either when everyone else gets one. Otherwise it all seems to work pretty well. The multiple home advantages seem a bit strange as SB has said. Plus all the travel when there’s hardly any fans allowed - all a bit odd.

I think one of those took the games Dublin was supposed to have?

Just has the feel of a random collection of games. Doesn’t feel like a proper tournament

Yes, St Petersburg took the Dublin games from that group.
