Question ref FFP... 12:19 - Jun 22 with 734 viewsSkip_Intro

If a player is still at the club but not registered in the first team squad does his wage still count towards the FFP requirements?
Thinking about players that will definitely be going but may not necessarily be gone by the start of the season - e.g. Jackson...
Anyone know?
Cheers

I would imagine so, or else you'll end up with more teams like Derby who have a wide selection pool, whilst limiting other teams to certain players.

I assume there is a cut off point, a date where you name your squad. Would seem reasonable that only the salary of player eligible to play league games would be taken into account.

Only players named in your squad count so Jackson wouldn't count if not named in our squad for example.

The cut off point for naming the squad is the end of the transfer window I believe. I think it's 2 September.

Yes, ( I'd imagine ) as although they might not be registered they would still be being paid their contractual wages.

It wouldn't though effect the squad size limits.

You might be right actually thinking about it, as u23's wouldn't count unless they were registred to 1st team

I do also wonder if PC might work with Jackson as a wide player, he's been hit and miss there, similar to uptop, but people do say about coaching and developing players, maybe there's hope with Jackson.
