The penalty appeal last night 13:52 - Jul 12 with 843 viewsGeoffSentence

Not given because the ref didn't think it was a foul? Or because Sterling had lost control of the ball and it was practically in the arms of Donnarunna?

Looked like Sterling just overran the ball. Would have been an incredibly harsh penalty.

Sterling was already halfway to the floor. I do think without the pen on Wed, he'd have stil got this one. Same with Kane and the amount of times he fell over

He lost his footing and was falling over, which he then spent the rest of the evening doing.

Had forgotten this, player goes through the back of him and makes contact with his calf. Within 60 seconds we had a freekick given against us 25 yards out for an identical challenge. As much as everyone raves about the refereeing this tournament, all they are really pleased about is the lack of VAR. If that's the case, why not scrap it and work on the standard of the officials.

because sterling was falling around everywhere last night and there's no doubt the pen award in the previous game would have prejudiced the refs view.

Not given because it was never a Penalty. Sterling had only one thought - go down.
