With a nod towards etymology I would say not. Mutual self-gratification in this instance would be circle baiting, wouldn't it? The baiting of, or by, a clique indicates a subject and an object - one of which is the clique and the other does the baiting or is baited. I'm now struggling to make this post remotely interesting or amusing so I'll stop. | |
