Land Registries and Title Plans 09:38 - Aug 17 with 1016 viewswkj

The usual way of going about this for free is using: https://www.gov.uk/search-property-information-land-registry

However, my property does not show up here with the message: "this doesn't mean the property is not registered". Is there an affordable alternative to finding this information out as it is a requirement to prove that you have off-street parking for the purposes of OLEV for an electric car charger installation.

Oh goodie, I have been missing the 'Are the searches still in place?' question every morning...

This sounds like a legacy issue, i.e. the Land Registry has a plethora of disparate documents that can only partially be converted to online files without a lot of work - and the cheap way to do this is to wait for users such as yourself to point out discrepancies. If you are in possession of the deeds from when you bought the property that is the (painfully obvious) place to look for details of the registration, but these usually stay with your conveyancer. Maybe a call to them with a casual 'I'm sorry but I don't think you ever sent me a copy of the papers and I just need to know...' but I suspect this would involve them getting a clerk to dig and delve for a while and they would charge you (at fully qualified silk's rates of course.)

This requirement is a huge disincentive / not able to own, an electric car moving forward, it won't be a problem for a good few years yet but will be as new petrol and diesel engines are phased out for anyone without off street parking.

Yes, it is a horrible part of what should be a process the government forces through with gusto, EV ownership. I am in a situation where my parking is off-street but is shared with a neighbour (3 spaces for 2 properties). This adds a whole world of complexity to the OLEV process as it is a bit of a catch 22 - MSDC do not allocate parking in accordance to another piece of legislation called 'Secured by Design’ - essentially trying to avoid showing properties may be empty by lack of vehicles in allocated parking spaces.

I had an argument with a Man United fan about whether our Title Winning Goalkeeper was better than his son, their two time FA Cup winning goalkeeper.

I advocated for old Bailey.

I never knew that my building society held so many docs on my property until I paid off the mortgage.
I received these in the post as I guess they were legally mine or maybe they no longer had a need for them.
There was stuff going back to WW2 showing the plans for a partial rebuild of my property due to the house next door being bombed. That was the first I knew about that. I wondered why there was no No.41 in the street. My house was not originally the end house of the terrace.
It might help Wkj if he contacts his mortgage provider to see if they've got stuff like that.

Don't believe a word I say. I'm only kidding. Or am I?
