I woukd imagine the EFL will say “on your bike” unless you have a season long injury problem and decide that the injured player will not be registered at any point this season.

Have you not got some Brizzle City related stuff to get on with? You cruising around here looking for stuff about Ashton, looks a bit obsessive. Has Aston Gate still got sh1t floodlights?

That's not what is implied by how the rule is worded. More a matter that it is an administrative process which could take time and they may limit how often it can be done, rather that something which requires strict justification.

Cheltenham Blue - no, we don’t have any floodlights anymore. We have a lovely ground, crap acoustics though, and a crap team, that luckily is improving. Our forum a bit quiet. I’m just surprised so many have gone “all-in” on Ashton’s Corporate Speak. It’s fine to lay the blame on Cook, he’s not doing very well, especially as he’s been given the earth (19 players) by the new CEO. At some point you will need to question why a non-football man has so much power in which players come in. At City we desperately needed a football-man as our Head of Recruitment, someone to step-in between the egos of Johnson and Ashton, provide the football nous why player A might look good in the video / data analysis, but would be a bad choice because they don’t fit the playing system. Ashton tries (and fails) to perform that role. It’s not his skill set. He’s an administrator who does football deals, his skills are not Talent ID. Some of your signings are the Chairman’s and CEO’s vanity signings, not Paul Cook’s. Cook is a muppet for saying yes….that’s something he’ll have to deal with. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

A bit like the one he created at our Club ..... yes .... all under his control and power After getting rid of the man who did fantastic recruitment to form a fantastic L1 romping side... Fevs could enlighten you with the details of Ashtons recruitment team obpver his period here and the success of 60:odd signings ..... yes Alls well Sorry if that doesn’t fit your agenda or complete naivety

I have you dopy twonk, and your lights, which are beautifully positioned along the stand are bloody awful, giving patches of light all over the pitch with dark areas in between the 'spots'. Lansdown didn't get lights all the way to the ends of the stands either, so the penalty areas are darker than the centre circle. I've been to Aston Gate, 15 times in the last two years, I normally park on Duckmoor Road until they restricted it.

No one. I was just wondering as I thought I saw someone post that once the squad list went to the EFL, it was closed. Thought it odd as with so many out of contract players, that would be a restriction of trade and could end up in court via the PFA.

Cook has currently won 4 games out of 24, it's nowhere near good enough. Ashton so far has recruited a squad, which almost any neutral observer would say is packed full of serious quality at this level, with players of a high calibre - with 4 or 5 who have been key players for Cooks teams previously so he has obviously had some input. Ashton may have over paid, given out bad contracts, brought in some players that don't fit.......but ultimately he has delivered a squad that is the envy of nearly every team in this league. Does this make Ashton the messiah? No. Does it mean Ashton has done a very good job so far? Yes Does this make Cook a rubbish manager? No Does it mean Cook has done a terrible job so far? Yes Bristol City fans seem overly invested in Ashton failing - I'm happy to educate you on how the previous set up here was, and why we see Ashton as a big improvement. Would you rather have Ashton running Bristol City, or for Steve Lansdown to be the man taking all the day to day decisions? When you having to wait for sign off to order new printer ink from Lansodwn despite him being an international businessman, who spends a couple of days a month at the club. Whether Ashton succeeds or fails will play out over time - he is a humongous step up from what we had, and has started well.....will he be able to make the next steps with us? We'll find out over the next few years.

When I said “stirring” I meant I was enjoying debating an alternate view with your forum. In most cases I’m the polar opposite viewpoint to you, so it is quite fun hearing the sane arguments from your guys as it was our own, and Watford fans coming onto our forum and telling us he was bad for us. I like Ipswich, you have a great history, far better than ours, and I am expressing my views because I hope you don’t experience the Ashton, us and Watford had. If you want to ban me, that’s fine….but I don’t post with malice, I don’t (try) to post conjecture or speculation to fit an agenda. It’s just we e been here. I’ve been analysing City’s finances (and the Championship) for almost 4 years and I saw Mark Ashton (as the CEO) as responsible for presiding over a huge downward trend that has left us in a bad position. He came on the crest of a wave (first season back up) and rode that wave and then drowned us. He’s an opportunist who is joining you as a club on the up, perfect for him. When he leaves, it will be interesting to see where the peak gets to and the trough stops. I hope he doesn’t knacker your club, because as a neutral, you are a club most neutrals can identify with. I get that he’s delivered 19 signings, a mix of players from Cook’s past….at the mo’ that’s all you can judge him on….but is it? He is Paul Cook’s boss, if the team aren’t performing that’s his responsibility too. It’s not “here’s your 19 players, get on with it”.

Mate, you put 'Stirring' and then three laughing crying faces. You absolutely post with malice, I really don't see why you and your mates keep popping up here, Ashton's gone, yet you seem desperate to talk about him all the time, unless its an attempt to wind us all up as per your post on OTIB.

Is it thanks to MA's and PC's media profiles that so many are representing the current situation in this way? The football club (including MA & PC) have failed to win a game this season. The football club have signed 19 players. Why does MA get the credit for the signings and PC the criticism for the results? I'm not so sure the recruitment is as good as we've been told, especially at the back. This area lacks leadership, experience...and any ability to keep the ball out of the back of the net.
