For example when listening to radio 2 recently they toploader were coming up and my heart sank because they only had 2 hits and whilst they could have chosen to play this
which is awesome
I knew (and they did) that they would play this
Dross and its a cover.
I know there are other examples... Sigrid who is an awesome little songstress, lots of good tunes apart from Strangers which is the only song of hers anyone on the radio is actually play.
Or Thin Lizzy, they could play Whisky in the Jar from time to time but nope, The boys are back in Town or forget it
In fairness both of those Toploader songs are sh!te, though I agree that Dancing in the Moonlight is offensively sh!te to the point listening to it pains me physically.

I don't LIKE achilles heal per se, but it went a long way to rescuing toploader from the blight that was Dancing in a tube top.
Fair play to Alan Davies for giving singing a go though.

A few years ago I practically had an on air argument with Mark Radcliffe when I suggested a Doors track for The Chain, he was all 'here's Riders On The Storm' whereas I had suggested 'Love Her Madly'. Same album but a greatly neglected and lovely track. To be fair to the Manc he did relent and play my choice.
I’d say it’s a guilty pleasure but I don’t feel remotely guilty about it ... I like Toploader’s Dancing in the Moonlight. Always have a singalong and a dad groove to it.
