So they allowed the back markers past and set up an all or nothing, winner takes all last lap...bit like when you are 10 - 4 down against yer mates in the local park and someone shouts "Next goal wins" :-)
I've sussed the stewards decision. on 16:33 - Dec 12 by StokieBlue
Not really next goal wins given the tyres.
More letting one team have a penalty with no keeper.

Hamilton couldn't have had more bad luck in the last 5 laps.
The crash meant free pit stop for Verstappen and new tyres. Plus the race director then seems to change all the established rules to force a one lap race which Hamilton really had no chance of defending. It was great entertainment but seems very unfair.
