“Toto is really dominant in both boxes and he can also play comfortably with the ball at his feet. I’m delighted to get the deal over the line and get a player of Toto’s calibre in the building.”

Were you expecting him to say 'hes got a mistake in him for every match..., we are delighted to have him in the building'.

FWIW, I liked Toto.

haha, oh dear!

I liked Toto but as a defender he was very limited and unfortunately he was too clumsy in his own box and was often a walking penalty.

At times his no nonsense defending was just what we needed, but we need a better caliber of CB and good that McKenna sees this.

Toto is certainly not comfortable with the ball at his feet or playing it out so a truly bizarre comment from Crainey. However he'll probably do an effective job for Fleetwood.

Of all the things Crainey could praise Toto for, bring comfortable on the ball is not one. If I were a Fleetwood fan reading that I’d be expecting a lot more than what I’d be getting. He’s also not threatening in the box from set pieces. In fact, everything Crainey has said is incorrect.

He’s in my worst all time Town XI. Worst passer of a football I’ve seen in a Town shirt. The rest of his game doesn’t make up for the inability to do basics for me.

In a back 2, he wasn't the worst CB at our club this season, let alone an all time XI.

Very limited footballer whose confidence was shot - but a useful 'head it and kick it' 3rd Division CB for someone if he can settle down and feel loved.

Depends what your standards are for worst XI. I like confidence in my defenders and the reassurance that when they have the ball at their feet they’re going to pass to a team mate. As I’ve said before, Toto’s a liability for the side in different phases of play not just the imminent danger. I can’t think who has been worse than him at CB. A few have made mistakes for sure but the value they add beyond being just a header and kicker makes up for that.

Anyway, all the best to him. McKenna goes up in my estimation instantly for having the courage to call it time here for him. It was long overdue.

Toto is a wholehearted but limited player, nothing against him as a bloke, he seemed a good guy but the number of games he has played says a lot about where Ipswich Town have been the last few seasons. Calling him comfortable on the ball isn't how I would describe him but good luck to him.

Haha! Solid back three. With Mark Fish off the bench, that’s a solid match day squad back line.
