We all know we'd buy Hirst for £1.5m, deny Pompey getting him and they'd buy Piggott from us only for him to massively outscore Hirst! Lol.
Presume it'll be a loan to Pompey with a fee agreed for them to buy him. Frees up some wages our side given he won't get a look in.
Plus also potentially weakens Pompey as I'd much rather a rival had Piggott up front than the likes of Hirst who they wanted to move heaven and earth to get last week. |  | | |  |

He seems a nice guy and I'd love him to do well if he's still our player, as long as it's not too well at a promotion rival.
However, from what I have seen of him, his Wimbledon season was very much an exception at this level and he's a poor League One striker and a half decent League Two one.
As long as it doesn't bite us then good luck to him, but from what I have seen Pompey can do a lot better. | | | |

I think he just doesn't suit our system at all. He's a bit of a throwback, big and strong, elbows in, stick it up to his head and get runners off him. He doesn't seem to have the ability at his feet or speed of thought to link play or run in behind like KM needs from our central striker. He's a very expensive 'plan B' here, but that's not to say he couldn't do well for a more direct Cowley side. He'll basically be the Matt Rhead of Pompey, utter sh1thouse and probably will chip in with goals. |  |

Very true and its a little bit worrying that both Bonne and Pigott struggled second half of last season and both had been successful in League 1 before . Was it just loss of form or that we were so slow to get the ball forward ? |  | | |

You have to remember his Dad died early into the season as well.
A full pre-season and a clean slate this summer and he could be a different player. I wish him well but also don't want to see him leave and score 25 goals. I'd give him a chance until January personally. |  |
