So much optimism ahead of that season after the dark days of Mick-ball... only to find out Hurst was a woeful replacement.. if only we'd got that appointment right!
But hey perhaps we'd still be mid-table championship with marcus, but with no forward plan... feel like gamechanger have given us that.. WE JUST NEED TO GET OUT OF THIS FECKIN LEAGUE
A reminder that the West Ham friendly increased the optimism as it was a youthful and positive display despite the loss:
"Despite the result, and a draw might have been a fairer reflection, Town supporters will have been pleased with what they saw from their new-look side particularly in the first half and will have had their appetites whetted ahead of the start of the season proper next week when Blackburn visit Portman Road."

It's ridiculous. As per the other post talking about the Sheff Wed game being re-shown, we were struggling to get that for league matches in the Championship (despite what the official attendance figures were). |  |

I just hope the blubbing is kept to a minimum.
Would be no real surprise if we lost by 3 or 4 tomorrow given we are playing a team that reached the Semi Finals of Europe, has been in the top 6/8 for the last few seasons and are littered with international players. We are a very good League One side.
But there will be people deluded into thinking because we used to beat them regularly that we shouldn't be comprehensively beaten tomorrow. I'd love us to do well, but very hard to see us getting much which is no doubt exactly why McKenna wants this fixture.
Win or draw and that's a huge confidence boost. Lose or lose badly and it helps to show us things we can work on that allow us to be much more effective stopping League One sides. |  | | |

There was positivity as it was a pretty good performance
