Fantastic. Not a pindrop could be heard in the minutes silence and then a real rousing rendition of God Save The King.

Lovely stuff

Great to see so many of our fans showing such respect.

Spent the entire minutes silence hoping my phone didn't ring as i'd forgotten to put it on silent mode.
As Rommy says though, impeccable behaviour from all inside PR and a very moving appreciation for Stewie on 11 minutes.

We have no village green, or a shop. It's very, very quiet. I can walk to the pub.

It was wasn't it. To be honest I would have liked to sit down for the singing but decided not to fall out with my fellow season ticket holders!
Amazing how many phone messages were delivered during the silence where I was!

I guess you had to be there. I can’t imagine ever feeling emotional or inspired by GSTQ, it’s a dirge. But with what’s going on, maybe I would feel different if I’d have been there. I reckon I’ve spent too long out of England and surrounded by Welsh Nats to have much respect for English institutions foisted on the ‘regions’ (or other countries as many people from Wales, Scotland and N. Ireland would call us).

BUT, I’m happy to hear it was impeccably observed and it moved people. It shows our class. I think any anthem should be respected at sporting events, it’s simple courtesy and what differentiates sport from real life. This is an extreme, rare example of course and you’d expect a good response. I wish it would translate to international matches - it really pisses me off when people boo the opposition’s anthem.

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?

Went to non league finals day in may when the Wrexham fans did this. We turned from neutrals into Bromley supporters pretty quickly! Of course beckham ‘hanging on’ with Ryan Reynolds for the day didn’t help either

I was sitting with the Wrexham fans that day - I think the issue was that they didn't know that both the English and Welsh anthems were going to be sung (there was no announcement that the Welsh one was coming), so weren't very happy that it seemed as if only the English one was being used.
