First real test and we got a lot right and a few things wrong. Focus on these and we'll be better for it.This is where a real promotion team is built.
Overall, I think we didn't really adjust to being a goal in front. But clearly Sheff Wed are a decent side so was always going to be difficult for us to control the game. Then we were gifted a second but we hadn't really got on top of the game apart from the scoreline. Having said that, we should have had enough to then see the game out.
Not bad having another tricky away game next Saturday. Can pretty much work towards that straight from today and the feeling of 2 points dropped.
Yes, we have an FLT game but that should be a workout for anyone who needs more time on the pitch.

That’s fair enough.
Maybe because it was August, home matches and teams sorting themselves out but the Bolton and Barnsley games just didn’t feel like the same as today. The Sheff W crowd got going and the team were a continual threat as well as fighting us to control the ball – so for me at least it felt like a level up.
And I did say Barnsley looked a good team at the time. No doubt we can expect the same at Oakwell and the Reebok. Which makes the two dropped points all the more annoying. | |
