yesterday 08:05 - Nov 13 with 2158 views | textbackup | Not a massive moan here, but we take about 47 passes to get into a crossing position, by which time Cheltenham had lined up two men at the front post each time to deal with a cross that either got pulled back to nobody or put to the near post to nobody. i mean what do i know, but if a team comes here knowing they'll spend 99% of it defending, they'll love the fact that we take so long to build up the play, and they can get in positions they've been working on all week. And Walton, jesus christ, that was so poor.

yesterday on 08:29 - Nov 13 with 2075 views | Jeff_winger | I think the theory is we move the ball about, keep possession and pull opposition out of position, I'm not sure it always works against teams in league one all the time. Think it only works when the opposition actually want to get the ball. Maybe we need a plan B - Hooooof
yesterday on 08:48 - Nov 13 with 2043 views | RIPbobby | Yeah our problem is teams don't try to beat us. They were just looking to make it a training exercise, but somehow also sneaked a goal. I have mentioned it before, our defenders are not bad it is just that they are spending 90% of the game on the half way line trying to pick a hole in them. We are going to get it all season so we better get used to it. If we go up I would expect at least half the teams to take us on. Hopefully we get through to FAC3 and get a big team to test ourselves against. [Post edited 13 Nov 2022 9:00]

I know we are not a counter attacking team and City had most of the ball, but the speed Brentford moved the ball, the energy and desire players were showing to get into the penalty box is something we could add a bit more of to our game. When Harness hit the bar, that was a decent example so we can do it. Especially against the low block McKenna refers to, as you say, we are pedestrian in our build up.

yesterday on 10:38 - Nov 13 with 1842 views | Cuffy81 | Agreed on how long it took to get it out wide, by that time they had everyone back in position. We are missing Evans, no one else in the squad has the ability to switch play like him, getting it wide early to find men in space is key Not a moan but after our main tactics of get to the byline didn't work we didn't seem to know what to do. Tough game next Saturday but we'll have more space to operate

yesterday on 13:42 - Nov 13 with 1649 views | strikalite | Wasn't it bloody frustrating, trying to work the perfect goal which gives them time to set themselves, I'll have a moan, we get a free kick about 25 yards out, five yards left to being central, perfect, so what do we do, we go short and push it out wide AGAIN, surely to god we have a direct attempt from there...

yesterday on 14:58 - Nov 13 with 1562 views | pennblue | for me the issue is we don't seem to have anyone that is in the right position when the ball gets played in from the sides. They always seem to be 1 or 2 metres off where they need to be. You would have thought that could be coached into them. But our central defence is just not good enough, just look at the positioning for their goal yesterday, that was just woeful, not good enough. We need a solid leader in one of those two positions who will organise. I don't think Keogh is the answer either, he is just too old imo

yesterday on 15:01 - Nov 13 with 1556 views | DinnernotTea | We also don't attack centrally, every single time it seems a square pass. No one is willing to play 1 2s centrally or run beyond Ladapo or have a pop from 20/25 yards. We've seen lately the amount of goals Plymouth score from range. It is so easy to predict our next pass in the final third.

yesterday on 16:37 - Nov 13 with 1462 views | Pilgrimblue | That’s why I’m very disappointed with Woolfy! He has lost the plot. Lost count how often he slows the game down. Why has he stopped charging forward. We’re giving the opposition so much time to prepare for next attack. Must get Edmunds on from start as he appears the only one prepared to move quickly and get forward.

We need to be more like Brentford and less like Man City? Or have I misunderstood your analogy?
