Probably gonna wind you up massive and say that it annoys me the other way round now 😂 can’t stand people calling them the old names. But then I’m young and never knew them as the old names. Much like all things ITFC, I’m only used to the modern poorer version.

Well, the Pioneer was built as a new stand so I suppose there was some justification in giving it a new name, as well as the Yen from Pioneer. I also was a fan when the Cobbold Stand was built & at least its name reflects the proud history of the club, although it was originally called the Portman Stand. Equally, the old North Stand & the Churchmans have both been rebuilt. We went for sponsorship revenue when the Churchmans or South Stand was renamed the Greene King Stand between 2001 & 2009. I'm not a great fan of naming stands after managers/players but maybe the SBR or SAR stand are better names than taking a sponsorship dollar. If Town progress up through the leagues, I guess naming rights for the stadium might be up for grabs, but it will always be PR to me.

I have advocated for years that the lower tier of Sir Alf could easily be referred to as the Churchmans terrace (retaining a historic link yo the past) ...
