I recall for the draw itself the beeb used to highlight only certain numbers. The "top" clubs (the usual suspects naturally) and certainly the lower/lowest ranked teams left in the competition. |  |

They did reintroduce the Monday lunchtime cup draw for a couple of seasons about 20 years ago. It probably didin't atrract the TV audience figures that are required. | | | |
