I disagree. The squad isn't as good as people make out.
It has some quality sure but overall it lacks certain elements.
People say im harsh on burns. Blast a ball in the net from 5 yards great. But what about the other 60 odd minutes.
Morsy. Float round the pitch popping the ball 2 yards and then losing it when you try a 20 yard ping.. brilliant.
Harness is such a typical league 1 player it's unreal.
Walton showing why he was farmed out for years
Ladapo is a 2 man partner uptop not a one man striker. It's clear for months.
Donacien offers little on the ball going forwards
Burgess for all the good. He's got 2 left feet and can't cope when a player drops a shoulder
Edwards.. no idea what he is tbh. Not come on at all
It's an OK squad. But to many people go on past seasons with players imo. | |

We probably aren't, if you're being picky, but then we have a rookie manager of not much over a year's standing. Well trained at a high level (with top players), but little previous knowlege of L1. He's done pretty well to get the Lambert-Cook era shambles running with the leaders.
However, we're not going to be able to avoid bumps in the road. But things are still on track to be challenging for automatic promotion come the end of the season. Especially as the club has not been shy of adding talent to the squad this transfer window. | |

I haven't backtracked, I've clarified without editing the OP as I agree it was vague, but the last 10 game form table is pretty clear.
10 games is a pretty decent sample size, and always seems a good enough sample size when we are looking for reasons to clap. We've been well below automatic promotion form for 3 months now.
If I take the sample size of the whole season so far, we are not good enough for automatic promotion. Or is there a different reason why that's not a fair take? | |
