In pub reflecting on the game 17:35 - Jan 14 with 3523 viewsgtsb1966

We just didn't get going today. We all say about teams parking the bus but Plymouth didn't and we weren't good enough to beat them. Created very little . A draw was a fair result today. One thing though....please stop messing about with it at the back. A disappointing day really when they were there for the taking.

Despite being stronger than we have been in years we still look very Ipswich. Long way to go as yet

They scored about 20 odd minutes after the injury wasn't it? I maybe wrong but it wasn't moments before the goal.

In fairness, I thought they looked out of ideas after our goal. Overall, probably deserved the draw though.

In what way were they “there for the taking”?

Because they played football and didn't park the bus. We weren't good enough.

That doesn’t mean they were there for the taking though. I’m pretty sure Arsenal or City wouldn’t come to defend either.

They didn’t park the bus but I wouldn’t call it football. They look very at home in this division with the way they play. Pretty poor quality game all round today.

They play exactly how we need to play in this league.

Mix up the football. Sometimes they kept it short and tidy. Sometimes tried to turn the defenders. They did everything you see from the likes of a Wycombe and last seasons MK Dons. They then made subs that enabled them to be even more direct but equalised via a player during forward with the ball that only KVY for us tried all game.

Their gaffa has that extra years experience on KM. He's learnt what you need to succeed at this level. He has a style. But he knows you need to mix it up to get the results you need.
They only needed a draw. They got it.

Ipswich

Season. Not a few months Horsh.

Schumacher was assistant with plymouth into the league and then took over into the season. He's had more of a headstart than km did.

It'll be interesting how and if KM changes his style to suit the league.

Harness missed a sitter. Ladapo twice could have fed players in to create gilt edge chances, but didn’t. Morsy ‘shot’ from 15 yards with all the strength of a 7 year old princess.

We got in positions to kill that off long before the end. Story of our season really.

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?

Their manager started in December 2021.

14 days before KM.

He was assistant at the same club prior and had got promoted with them.

That is absurd. We are in league one, by league one standards it was a high quality game. No we didnt stroll around the park passing it at will as we do in some games, but that is not a high quality game, that is poor quality opposition allowing us to do so. Today was high tempo with no little ability by both sides. We may not have got the result we wanted, it may not have been a goal fest, but it waa definitely not a poor quality game.
