Second half on Saturday 09:06 - May 2 with 2074 views | TractorCam | Burns scores immediately Exeter have that weird back pass that nearly goes in Both teams make subs, notably Hladky for us What on earth happened other than this? Were there any other good chances/passing play? Convinced the ref blew on the 50th minute to let the celebrations start early. [Post edited 2 May 2023 9:06]

Second half on Saturday on 09:29 - May 2 with 1890 views | The_Romford_Blue | It was weird. Even at 3-0 up as a town fan I’m looking at the clock to check how long we’d need to carry on without ‘doing an Ipswich’ and finding a way to bollox it up. But at 6-0 and knowing we were about to be promoted was just about as un-Ipswich as I could think of. I don’t even think I properly celebrated the 5th goal but rather turned around to the people around me in shock asking if this was actually happening. The 6th went in and I actually thought we may get 10. If there was anything to highlight how different this Ipswich team is to most of the sides in our generation, we’ve had three crunch games in a week and made routine wins to nil look easy in all of them. It’s just not what we are used to.

I've done some of that Ipswich reverse betting on our last 3 games, lost a bit of £££ but worth it for the Town!

I had a similar experience on Saturday. The 5th goal went in and the bloke next to me asked ‘what the f…’s going on?’. I was just about as perplexed as him
Second half on Saturday on 10:05 - May 2 with 1640 views | Steve_M | A lot of overplaying trying to score perfect goals, Chaplin blasted a couple over like that, Ladapo had a shot or two. It all went by very quickly though.

Team that's losing just going through the motions with only professional integrity to play for, team that's winning doesn't have much of an incentive to keep the pressure up so intensely and can afford to play at a slower pace knowing the job's done.

When the sixth went in I didn't celebrate at all, I just started feeling sorry for Exeter and hoping it wouldn't affect them too badly if we got double figures. Never felt like that at a game before. The San Miguel was kicking in a bit too.

Ddin't feel we let the pace slip that much. The forward line was still running themselves into the ground closing down. 2nd half just felt Exeter were a bit more organised and probably just focussed on keeping the score down.

Second half on Saturday on 10:31 - May 2 with 1489 views | tractor_lady | It’s weird but as many have said this wasn’t the Ipswich way? What happened to a nervy 2-1 and us all having “squeaky bum time” at the end?? It actually felt an anti climax in the end, I said at half time can we not stop the game now and just celebrate going up now! Really really odd, don’t get me wrong I am still singing town songs in my head now (at work so can’t sing out loud) and I’ve watched all the highlights over and over and can’t wait till next season, but sat it just felt odd!!!
Second half on Saturday on 10:41 - May 2 with 1433 views | Deano69 | We did go a bit quiet second half. The usual situation of 'nail biting until the bitter end' was snatched from us by an outstanding display of clinical finishing by an incredibly hyped and motivated Town starting 11. Absolutely outstanding first half. Was eerily odd after the 6th with a spell of almost silence. Then a slightly awkward 40 minutes while we played out the formality knowing Exeter just wanted it all to end to go home badly bruised, and we wanted it to end to go mental and celebrate. Cant ever recall quite such a mixed bunch of feelings in just a few hours.... Amazing!

Second half on Saturday on 10:43 - May 2 with 1426 views | GeoffSentence | Hladky did actually have a save to make. Not so much a save as such, but had to gather the ball at the feet of an on-rushing forward. I was glad he was called into action so he had an active contribution to make.

Professional courtesy? Job was done at 6-0, there was no need to go on and utterly humiliate Exeter. They were merely an object in the way of our aim - had it been them up the road we may have kept the foot to the throat.
Second half on Saturday on 14:57 - May 2 with 946 views | textbackup | Felt the same, but after we hit 3-0. The game just flew by. The normally silent bar at HT was full of song. Nearly everyone I saw leaving the bar had tipped beers into coffee cups. People just chilled the hell out for final 60mins. Was weird
