I remember going through every game in this period full of anxiety. I remember the relief when Walton saved that Pen. I remember the relief when Cam Burgess got the second. I remember the anxiety falling away at the final whistle. I remember thinking, "we could do this", until the next game and the anxiety started again.
Do you know what, I think we can do this! Following that penalty via text updates on BBC sport while sat outside Leeds university seemed to take forever.
"They break our legs and tell us to be grateful when they offer us crutches."
Amongst a number of pivotal moments, this for me was the real turning point.
We proved by beating a good L1 side at home, and deserving it, that we were breaking away from the old can’t win against top six etc and really had something going.
It was a great win and the confidence gained showed in the March, April tough away games at Derby, Peterborough and Barnsley. In all 10 goals for, zero against. No wonder Wednesday got depressed.

Only after Barnsley did I feel confident we'd do it, but then before the Exeter game I was thinking we mustn't be complacent. And man did we nail it. I remember after the fifth went I couldn't keep the grin off my face.
I remember it well Kenners old bean. Was watching with one of my bruvs and nephews and all of us going mental with excitement. Various Arsenal and Liverpool fans from the neighbourhood (bruv's not mine) trooping in and out and joining in the excitement. As said elsewhere, this was the first really big test on our difficult away run in and it felt like a massive statement win, with a penalty save thrown in to boot. A cracking start to that excellent four aways run (ignoring Cheltenham and Walton's brain fart).

I can remember thinking 'as long as we don't lose' and at half time thinking 'well they will have to score twice'
It feel hoooge at the time and I started to hope.... but then remembered its the hope that kills you

It kept getting better innit. Even the damp squib at Cheltenham didn't really matter cos the main thing was taking point away from close rivals as well as picking up points. And let's not forget the extraordinary goal at Derby was close on the heels too.
It's quite incredible to think that as late as March I went off to Bolton and had one of the best away days for many, many years and 5-6 weeks later this match wouldn't have made it into my top three away days in 2023, let alone the whole season.
Derby was even better than this, Posh even better than that and Barnsley was on a whole other level.
Bolton though was the one that put this whole can't beat Top 6 teams to bed and really laid the foundations for what was to follow on the road. Brilliant away day at the time that now, incredibly, barely gets a mention in my mind when reviewing the season.
