This entirely new phenomenon of Mediterranean countries being hot in July must be down to global warming.
In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!
Journo speak can be amusing, no ? Here are a couple of instances from this morning's Aljazeera story:
'Scorching weather is gripping three continents' - who knew that the weather had such muscular hands ?
'threatening to topple temperature records' - and that one of those hands could form itself into a fist, perhaps the weather is also bawling 'damn you, human race' at the same time.
All the same, I wouldn't want to be in Death Valley at the moment:
'California’s Death Valley, often among the hottest places on Earth, is also likely to register new peaks on Sunday, with the mercury possibly surpassing 54C (129F).'
I'll never be able to get my head around the number of people who think it's just (yet another) interesting, far-off weather news story, let alone those who are still in active denial for whatever reason.

I’ve had 124° in Death Valley and even managed to go for a short run (not recommended lol). I like the heat, but that was plenty hot enough.
The number of records that keep being recorded and various impacts on life and ecosystems should be a wake up call. But people seem blasé about it strangely, not helped with the issue being politically polarised, especially when it comes to protests (albeit most people, parties and politicians would agree it’s a serious issue and we need to do more).
