What 'premium' Prem loanees are going to be available this season? 11:17 - Jul 10 with 2241 views | tractorboy1978 | Whilst we don't want to have a reliance on loan players, every season you tend to find that the teams that do well and find their way into the top 6 have 1 or 2 Prem loanees that are top end players at this level. Luton - Nakamba Burnley - Tella/Harwood Bellis Sheff Utd - T Doyle/McAtee Coventry - C Doyle Sunderland - Diallo Boro - Archer/Ramsay So my question is, who will be available this summer? Who are the 19/20/21 year olds coming from top Prem academies that could rip up the Championship next season? You'd imagine Leicester are going to get the pick from Man City but I'd like to think with McKenna's track record of player development, we have a good crack at being able to attract a couple of players.
What 'premium' Prem loanees are going to be available this season? on 11:29 - Jul 10 with 2145 views | jayessess | One thing you notice about all those lads is that almost all of them had some experience of men's football at a similar level or higher already. Harwood-Bellis, Tommy Doyle, Archer and Ramsay had played on loan in the Championship before. Tella had 30 appearances for Southampton in the Premier League, Diallo had played a little in Serie A, PL, SPL, Nakamba's 29 and had a whole career behind him. Of these really successful loan spells only Callum Doyle and McAtee hadn't played in the top 2 tier tiers and even Doyle had been part of a League One promotion. Think if you want a really terrific breakout season you want to look at who's shown something already.

Sort of? A lot of first loans don't go brilliantly, so someone like JRS who has really smashed it in League One is a good option. Doesn't always translate though, Troy Parrott and George Hirst had excellent spells in League One in 2021-22 but made fairly underwhelming contributions in their Championship loans. Think for a good shot at a loan that completely transforms your team, you want someone whose loan to a Championship/SPL team just tipped over from OK to Good towards the end of last season (Jaden Philogene, Tom Cannon, for e.g.) or a kid who was playing with their parent club's first team but clearly needs games (Elliott Anderson, Facundo Pellistri). Not saying we can get those players but that's the profile where you get someone truly next level. [Post edited 10 Jul 2023 11:46]

Certainly truth in that although there are of course exceptions. Tom Cannon at Preston last season springs to mind. And Mr Ashton with Tammy Abraham a few years ago at Bristol City. Auston Trusty from Arsenal could be on that fits the bill for the left sided CB position. Rak-Sakyi and Scarlett already mentioned and would fit. Finn Azaz I wonder if Carney Chukwuemeka might be someone that leaves Chelsea. [Post edited 10 Jul 2023 11:52]

Elliot Anderson is a fascinating one. I fully expected him to go out last season after his spell at Rovers but he stuck around a featured for a fair few minutes off the bench. But now they have signed Tonali, Barnes looks to be joining. Maybe Newcastle will now look for the loan.

A very good shout. That gives me Ryan Fraser vibes when we got him. Clearly too good for the Championship. [Post edited 10 Jul 2023 11:54]

Think Trusty's listed for transfer, isn't he? If Chukwuemeka went on loan it'd be to another top flight team here or overseas, I reckon.

Trusty would be a great signing. But maybe out of reach for us.
