It's the rupture that's the really long lay off, isn't it?
If they've been trying physio etc. it'll presumably be the less serious thing (Tendinopathy, is it?). I dunno what time frame out makes it viable and cost effective to replace him. A good loan player is going to want to play most games between now and January at least, a permanent signing at Clarke's level of ability probably occupies more of our budget on right backs than is ideal. |  |

An alternative take is that at 23 he has more Premier League caps than our entire squad put together, that we couldn't afford him and that he's clearly going to end up at a bigger club than us.
