The first time we gained three points for a win in the Football League, courtesy of a 2-1 victory at Old Trafford (Wark and Brazil with the goals). This followed the 3-3 with Sunderland at Portman Road on the opening day of the season and a 1-1 draw at Birmingham in our second match.

Was it 3 or 4 years before then that we lost out on the title due to 2pts for a win, rather than 3 and ended up third? Derby winning it, although we had won more games.

Even worse from our point of view, that was the only time in history that there would have been a different champion had it been 3pts for a win.

To be fair, Derby won the league with a game to spare, so had probably been out on the pop a fair bit before their final game which they drew 0 0 at home. But who knows!

I like the very brief shot of the Town fans at the end. Very few 'colours' on display, just two or three scarves. One guy with his scarf worn 'properly' , knotted like a tie around his neck, Bay City Rollers-style.
Also notice a policeman actually in the crowd, just standing at the back watching the game like everyone else. Was that ever a thing at Portman Road, that you could be stood next to a cop?
