I was 'bitten' by a dog today, black lab, up near the training ground - hope it wasn't one of the players'. When I say bitten, it had a go at me knee and drew a tiny bit of blood, but more of a mini scratch really.
Gormless tvvat walking it neglected to retract the stringy leady thing as I approached on my bicycle. Mind you he was probably too busy contemplating his missus' posterior, as was I!

That's bad luck, people are always going on about the training ground, i got caught out up near there about fifty years ago but i was let down badly by a woman with a huge boot, she absolutely reeked of fish, so i just jumped off her and ran all the way to Sandown Road.

A much vilified job these days, but where would we be without the occasional, out-of-the-blue, hands-in-pockets brown mac eye-opener, especially on a warm summer's evening.
I think it all went wrong in the late Victorian, with the trend towards more aural surprises as initiated by The Phantom Raspberry Blower of Olde London Town.
