I didn’t see any of it today, was his finishing as bad as when he came on Vs sheff weds?

We’ll be good again... one day

If I remember rightly McKenna spoke about how they were working on Hirsts headed work in the box let season. think after his goal vs Shrewsbury.

He wins almost everything it seems but just loops over or right at the keeper.

I thought he worked really hard and was a right handful , yup missed a couple of pretty decent headers but i'm sure they will come . Freddie did well also but missed 2 , one poor control one forced a good save . Nice to have both of them in the squad .

The header he missed should be bread and butter for him. That was my only criticism. To move to the next level his finishing hopefully will improve. For a big guy he seems more threat in the ground.

I think like Sheff Weds… two great chances… at Hillsborough you can forgive him one missed chance on the ground, and you can forgive him his second chance at Hudds in the air.

But the first chance at Hudds from an amazing Omari cross needs to be put either side of the keeper

It was very early in the game I suppose.

But to re-emphasise Hirst was just excellent on the floor and holding up yesterday… needed more from Chaplin, Burns around him.

We missed Broadhead.

He needs to start scoring more,
All around play is brilliant,
But at this level he needs goal or may disappear at this level,
I still see a lot more to come,

The Huddersfield commentators on Sky were quite complimentary about him, but that might be because he hails from Yorkshire and he didn't score against them.

For a big man he is surprisingly poor when it comes to headers on goal, but very good on the ground and with his running off the ball. It's normally the other way round.

He has good pace as well for such a lanky guy

Speaking of lanky how tall was that Hudds sub? He was pretty poor as a player though

I should add that Chaplin and Burns failed to turn up Saturday on 14:48 - Oct 1 with 1729 viewsunstableblue

They got a bit swamped and weren’t able to get their games going

But they looked off colour

Hirst far more effective

At this level you can’t afford passengers I’m afraid… link those displays to Luongo having a slot start and Evans just being slow… I think McKenna will look back at a point gained, when having off day at the office.

He does so much off the ball too, creating space, dragging defenders and generally making life difficult for opposition defence. Don't think he is particularly low in confidence which is often an answer why a forward/striker isn't scoring more, but I really like to watch him play. Hopefully the goals will start coming soon

The early header should have been a goal. He made solid contact but the keeper didn’t need to move to save it. He worked their backline tirelessy and won his share of the battles. He suits our set up but his finishing is very average at times. Ladapo is more of a threat in the box. Boy would it be nice to combine their talents into one but that's Moon on a Stick stuff. Chappers should also of done far better with his first half chance too. Still, Happy Days and nice to have Morsy back and fresh for next two games.

Hirst for me is struggling a bit. But it's nothing major.

Yesterday he looked like he had a bit more energy in the tank and that's so important for his role.

He's not a natural goal scorer. You can tell by some of the opportunity he has missed. But he also scores some you don't really expect to happen.. that Barnsley goal. The derby 2nd goal I think it was too.

I've no idea what he'd cost.. but if that Armstrong link was true... he should be our next striker. I really like him.

Scarlett. At the moment I don't see the player I remember seeing for pompy briefly or in his england games. He looks really sluggish he did last week and again yesterday. No idea if he's concentrated on upper body muscle etc but he looks bigger and slower.

a niche perspective

Was only half watching but thought some of his build up play was brilliant. His finishing does need work - bring back TC
