If it helps, he's still been sacked in the paywalled Times.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

You can probably get over that paywall with a 12 ft ladder.

Hopefully Keir will follow suit to prove that Labour is ready for the gown up responsibility of government.

Go for it. As others have said though, the paywall means it’s a waste of a post and a link for many of us.

'Gown up' sounds either like what he does before going into an operating theatre or he has been offered panto...

More seriously, The Guardian article does finally show a bit of daylight between Labour and Conservative parties in that Labour are not applying the whip to MPs who do not follow the party line. The Conservatives talking about collective responsibility has too much of a linguistic echo to the Israeli Defence Force applying collective punishment to all Palestinians.

If Labour were brave enough, they could have a field day over this sacking. Sacked because he wants to save lives . Madness. It chimes nicely with the Tory contempt for human life in this country too, as being laid bare through the Covid enquiry. How can Labour possibly fail to take the moral high ground? (Rhetorical question; I’m sure we’ll find out soon).

if you think there is moral high ground then you are quite mad. we are all wading through a muddy swamp. sorry to break this to you.

And so as the loose-bowelled pigeon of time swoops low over the unsuspecting tourist of destiny, and the flatulent skunk of fate wanders into the air-conditioning system of eternity, I notice it's the end of the show

Nah, this one’s black and white. Anyone opposed to the slaughtering of over 3,000 kids in just over a week isn’t in the swamp. Absolutely nothing justifies that.
