The ref on Tuesday. 13:41 - Dec 14 with 2570 viewsSitfcB

Ended up being Darren England, who was rubbish.

But when the appointments were made it was supposed to be Premier League ref David Coote, but even the programme listed England, so couldn’t have been a late change.

Nobody told the TownTV commentator anyway, because he called him David Coote a few times in the highlights!

Darren England is PL too. It was him that was VAR for the Diaz goal cock up vs Spurs.

Yes, club media told me they were always under the impression it was England and not Coote. Not sure whether the EFL made an error or just changed it fairly early on without amending it on their own website.

Coote was on VAR duties in the Champions League this week so may have been made prior to that being known.

He’s shocking, but then how many of them aren’t…!

56 yellows in 10 games btw.

Couldnt disagree with you more.

The referee had a really good game. not allowing himself to be pulled into players trying to buy fouls, allowing play to continue to see how it played out. No real big controversial decisions.

When you reflect back on last seasons shower of SH*%E standard his performance was outstanding

Disallowed apwrfrctly good goal and handed cards for first offences one way but allowed repeat cynical fouls the other.

Stephen Martin (disallowed goal against Barnsley last season) against Leeds and Sam Barrott for the Leicester match.

That still boils my blood when I think about it. I knew he was going to make it all about him when I saw him prancing around in the warmup.

You know me too well!

I also told him to duck off when he missed a blatant fowl.

Oh ffs that Stephen Martin is proper main character energy, especially when it’s a TV game.

He was an abysmal embarrassment.

How our boys managed to win that game on so many yellow cards is beyond me. The pr1ck made himself centre of attention time and time again with his abysmal whistle blowing to the point I was praying that KM took half our players off to ensure that they were ok for saturday.

Football should never be played like that and that moron should be struck off.
