Just bought PG Tips Decaf tea bags. Usually in box of 80 bags. Today box was 70 bags! Reminds me of the reduced size of Mars bar! It seems as if our hands are getting bigger as products reduce in size, weight or volume without change in price. Shocking...perhaps in years to come we will look back fondly to 2023 when Mars bars were the size of 1990's Milky Way and not single bite size as they may become in the not too distant future.

Shrinkflation.

In the fictionalized socialist nation of Oceania, the government rations goods to its citizens, and publishes only news that make the rations seem plentiful, even though they are barely enough to get by. Goods like coffee are replaced with artificial Victory Coffee, gin is replaced with synthetic Victory Gin, and sugar is replaced with the more readily available saccharine tablets. Over time, the people of Oceania have become accustomed to these approximations of once-common commodities and have lost their sensory memories of the foods—the way chocolate melts on the tongue and the way a little pile of sugar feels when you push a finger into it.

As a pint of beer/cider/lager is immune to shrinkflation - I think we should all switch to those wherever possible.

Yep, happening a lot.

Latest allegedly full size ciabatta bread stick from Waitrose is only just slightly bigger in size than one of their half sticks sold in packs of 2.

M&S have been cheapskating for the past 4 years or so by no longer including olive oil as an ingredient in their pre-wrapped 'long-life' ciabatta sticks - tho you can get ciabattas fresh-baked from their bakery which does include it. First world problem of course.

Just had letter saying from next year l wont get a nice credit card sized annual fishing licence as usual. Due to cost cutting it's being scrapped so the flimsy receipt letter will have to suffice as proof of having licence..When car tax discs were scrapped due to cost cutting l felt robbed of a tangible reward for payment.
More evidence of demotivating cost cutting...imo

I'm fuming.
