McKenna has asked for our best support… 23:16 - Jan 12 with 1450 views | unstableblue | Let’s answer the call, bring our A game tomorrow, scream the lads to victory Going to be tight - let’s make the difference ————————————————— Having had a few frustrating games recently, McKenna stressed the importance of the fans staying behind the Blues even if goals aren’t as forthcoming as they were earlier in the season. “That's very important, no doubt about it,” he said. “It's been one of our big strengths over the last period: the togetherness and spirit between the playing group between the playing group when everyone internally at the club and between the playing group and our most important stakeholders, which is the fans. “That togetherness has been massive, the atmosphere in the stadium has been massive and for us to have the best chance of being successful that would be a really big part of it tomorrow as well. “So, we hope to create a really good atmosphere. Of course, the performance can also contribute to that and it's our goal to try and play in a way that the supporters can be right behind. “But I think it's also really important that the supporters know that they have such a massive importance for us and such a bearing on the performance and on the atmosphere and on the challenge for the opposition as well. “We've only got one home game in the league this month with the way the calendar has worked out now with the FA Cup, so my wish, my goal, is that we go out and create a great atmosphere and a great game of football tomorrow.”

McKenna has asked for our best support… on 23:30 - Jan 12 with 1400 views | Europablue | I'd like to see the crowd creating a positive environment where if Jackson or Ladapo play, we at least set them up to play at their best, which is pretty decent. A lot of our fans are guilty of letting their expectations get away from them. We just don't have the squad depth that the ex-Prem teams have and when injuries, fatigue, illness, loss of form, and suspensions kick in we are just not good enough to sustain an automatic promotion push. We still have a chance because of the January transfer window and the points cushion we had a few games ago.
McKenna has asked for our best support… on 00:01 - Jan 13 with 1359 views | gainsboroughblue | The crowd seems to me have gone into their shells a bit recently. That fun, boisterousness has seemed to have been replaced by a combination of nervousness and waiting for something to happen. Perfectly natural and not a criticism as this is seen at grounds all over the country but its almost like the reality that we are actually in a promotion challenge and not simply enjoying ourselves has hit home a bit. I may be talking crap but it feels a bit like that to me.

COME ON BLUE BROTHERS AND SISTERS on 10:59 - Jan 13 with 1075 views | unstableblue | Be the difference today, back the boys, don’t be passive, all stands need to be active and loud today. Today is a game where confidence and psychology are going to be key for both teams, they’re in a small wobble, we’re in a dip of form and injury. Small margins. If we’re quiet and conveying nerves it’s going to affect the performance and perhaps the results. Be like the Norwich game, why not?! COYFB

McKenna has asked for our best support… on 11:02 - Jan 13 with 1058 views | jayessess | I think the last home game being relatively weak opposition made a difference. There's definitely an effect where people are edgier/less supportive when it's a team we feel like we should be beating. Wonder if today will be different because Sunderland's seen as more of a challenge?

It’s nerves isn’t it. Until recently we’ve just been able to enjoy it. But the longer our performances and run continued the more possible the dream became - now we see it starting to wobble. It’s natural I guess and coming to terms with the reality of the situation. I can’t help but wonder if being a top team in the Champ might not be more fun that struggling to stay afloat in the Prem (which is the likelihood)

McKenna has asked for our best support… on 11:30 - Jan 13 with 1002 views | SomethingBlue | And if he gets anything less, he'd be right to be royally f8cked off. Big game today, will be really thrilled if we pull through it, never know which Sunderland are going to turn up but with a few more uncertainties at our end than usual it feels like a knife-edge one. Jackson & Ladapo were both really big parts of the most joyful ITFC season we have had in over two decades, and have continued to contribute to a pretty damn brilliant one this time, and deserve nothing but encouragement. Anyone doing the opposite needs calling out. Win today and the path through this month, which we will probably finish in stronger condition than we are in now, looks much more doable – with a far nicer-looking run of games around the corner. You are correct, since our failure to beat Norwich the atmosphere has gone at Portman Road, even against Leicester when people realised the gulf between the two sides was pretty obvious, even when we got stuck into the game, you felt the crowd had already resigned itself to us losing it.
