Why are they not in their traditional kit? You'd think they would be red and white at Wembley. It seems to be a trait of modern football that teams do not wear their proper colours. Arsenal wore yellow because it was back in the days when lots of people were still watching in black and white and red and blue were too similar in tone. Arsenal lost the toss and wore their away strip. |  | | |

That was the reason Arsenal were happy to wear yellow. They’d beaten Liverpool wearing it in 71 then lost to Leeds in 72 wearing their home kit.

Thanks. It's crazy that teams cannot change their socks, so instead have to wear the full second/third kit. Southampton have often worn black or red socks in previous seasons with their home shirt. | | | |
