Im fairly chilled about the lack of signings to date. Certainly in comparison to the McKenna saga which did make me very unchilled.
But, having said that, can we please have some this week!

The user who posted last night, said Johnson was a done deal. When I looked at their post history the last post was to say that Hirst was done. So are they a club insider? Or just randomly every year decide to parrot some twitter story?

Relax. I think 2 will be completed by nxt week. Rushworth and Johnson. Wouldn't be surprised if we got Omari over the line as well.
Based on the drip feeds of leaks.
I doubt we'll get many 'surprise signings' like we used to over the past few years as agents will be more active dropping hints to the media. |  |

Re Johnson his contract doesn't expire for a couple of days, he becomes a free agent on Monday. Assume most contracts have similar dates so we are likely to see movement from next week onwards, at least foe frees |  |

you'll probably find the real deals will start to happen from next Monday. with the turn of the 30th June deadline for FFP, most clubs will most likely deal after this point so anything comes under the new year earnings/loss - unless they have to balance out of course, which we don't. |  | | |

I think you are right about the leaks. Too many agents or selling clubs have a vested interest in trying to drum up other bids.
It will be nice to get a few in before pre season though.
Clearly we are going to get clubs quoting us stupid money as well which may take a lot of negotiating down or establishing that no one else is going to pay that price.
I heard Arsenal want about 50 mil for Nketiah - which is completely unrealistic imo. Id see him on our potential list but only at about 15mil. | |

If Chelsea really needed the money like we were led to believe then they would have been pushing for Omari to be done this week.
Agree on the leaks, now we are PL they is so much more interest in us from Sky and their reporters, Fabrizio and national journalists so they stories can easily get leaked from the other end of the deal. A whole new set of challenges for MA to deal with but don't think that will worry him | | | |

As others have posted. If those players whose contracts are running out all expire on 30th June, then 1st July should see a flurry of announcements from all sorts of teams, with ITFC included. Chill and wait for Monday. Even out of contract players are only put of contract after a certain date. |  |

Purely down to KM and the owners we have I am very relaxed on both the quality of new signings and also the timing of when they arrive.
All we need to do right now is sit back and enjoy the Euros and Copa America, and also be thankful we’re not going to be in a very tough looking championship . [Post edited 26 Jun 2024 13:24]
