Looks like 2 workers trapped up on a platform behind south stand which has come away from the wall and only not collapsed because someone very quickly and cleverly wedged it with a cherry picker.

Let's hope the two workers get down safe and uninjured.

Eyes on the ground tell me that the guys on cherry picker loaded the thing up too much on one side… as they started to tip a digger or something quickly pushed them back up.
Literally seconds from them falling sideways…

Ashton will do his nut in over stuff like this. Wonder if this might mean other works have to go at a slower pace and things fkr Saturday aren’t finished in time?!

Luckily and thankfully nothing more serious has happened and injury or worse was avoided otherwise I reckon the site would’ve had to been shut for a while! I assume the whole stadium is classed as one ‘site’ but may not be the case.

Would imagine at the very least they’ll now do a health and safety status assessment of all of the projects, which will cause a bit of a delay but like you say things shouldn’t grind to a halt at all.

Texters, that last sentence is absolute rubbish mate.
There is absolutely no way you have any evidence of that.
It's nothing more than wild speculation at best and a false allegation at worse.
Really not helpful for the club or this board and its moderators.

Distortion becomes somehow pure in its wildness.

Considering there’s disagreements on workers wearing shorts on site, you wonder who is in charge of what’s going on down there.

There could be a myriad of reasons why this has happened.
Probably best not to speculate too much, especially when one of the first suggestions was a lax approach to H&S.
The likely risk to health would probably make this event RIDDOR reportable, so best to let inevitable investigation take it's course.
It's just good to hear all involved are safe.

Must be a process on sites for reporting ‘near misses’ for want of a better phrase.

There are categories of near misses classed 'dangerous occurrences' that must be reported to RIDDOR, but not every near miss must be legally reported

I've just recently done my H&E refresher for construction sites. I'm glad I retained something, as it was REALLY boring to complete!

Just did a quick check and failure or collapse of lifting equipment is classed as a dangerous occurrence, so I'm sure there will be a thorough report and investigation.

What’s the beef? Workers want to wear shorts cos it’s hot but Ashton won’t let them?

Highly doubt that’s anything to do with MA… more down to the number of different contractors and their reportable foremen. I’m guessing of course

I mean, it’s hot, let the people wear shorts

I was standing outside crown court and saw it in real time.

Whoever used the cherry picker to prevent it falling probably saved serious injury

I saw it real time. 2 blokes on the lift clinging on daring not to move and the lift was falling backwards away from the stand until someone used a cherry picker to prop it up.
