It was a nightmare game but it doesn't help us to lose confidence in him so soon IMO. Large sum of money spent, McKenna's first choice, four-year contract, can we afford to undermine our new signings like this? If X and this site are awash with Town fans suggesting we've signed a dud over the next six days then I don't see how that helps the atmosphere on matchday. Of course he'll sink or swim of his own accord eventually, but in the meantime it would be better for us surely if he tries to find the best version of himself in a supportive environment; we all know what PR can be like when the crowd loses confidence in decision-making at the back.
I appreciate this is a board for discussing opinions, not mindless happy-clapping, I just question if one game and what a few saw in pre-season is enough reason to be sowing discontent already here. | | | |
