Time will tell but I think we've picked up some good players. I'm not expecting them all to pay off as is the nature with football, but we've given it a go and let's hope they settle quickly and adapt to the expectations of McKenna and his staff. Early days but I've been really impressed with Greaves, who has all the makings to grow and be sold on for much more than we've paid for him. The same with Delap, he's getting better and has the tools to continue developing. I really liked Szmodics on Saturday, he's got good energy and composure to his game. All eyes will probably be on Kalvin Phillips though when he's up to speed. I think it's hard to judge his early games, but by the back end of October, we should know whether we've got the Leeds and England Kalvin Phillips, or the Phillips who had a poor stint with West Ham last season. Hopefully he can get his confidence back because on paper, it's a heck of a signing and boost to our midfield if he does. EDIT: Added Omari [Post edited 28 Aug 2024 12:10]

How are you rating this transfer window? on 12:08 - Aug 28 with 1721 views | Bobbychase | You never have the perfect transfer window but this must be close for a club in our position. We kept McKenna which was a great start, but look to have bought wisely. Greaves, Delap and Hutchinson will all, in my opinion, go for big money in the future should we need to sell them. Phillips and Cajuste add a bit of top-flight experience and players like O'Shea and Townsend have a bit of Prem experience too. Then you have the likes of Clarke and Szmodics who can hurt defences at this level and will no doubt improve under McKenna, Ditto Ogbene, who I think could really flourish in a team like ours. Time will tell of course, but I think we've assembled a squad that can stay up and, if they don't, we have the core of a very good Championship side with sellable assets that can keep the financial wolf from the door.

How are you rating this transfer window? on 12:10 - Aug 28 with 1698 views | Woolfenthen | + Omari Yep decent, vast sums of money is concerning though although really pleased the club is not prepared to stand still and will give it a real go. Plenty of players there who have a higher ceiling and the lengths of the contracts tell me that we are invested in them and looking to keep the group together whatever happens. The forward players are really exciting and yes Greaves does look a player. We've given ourselves a chance but think we all have to be realistic in that it could take some weeks for them to all get to speed.
How are you rating this transfer window? on 12:12 - Aug 28 with 1660 views | DeepBlueSea | It’s difficult to see how it could be much better, given the restrictions of FFP and of our status as a newly promoted club. I’d honestly give it a 9, and make it a 9.75 if we sign a genuinely fit Broja

I had forgotten about the McKenna saga which of course, will be the most important piece of business we'll do all season. One thing I like about the players we've recruited is we have added a lot more athleticism and pace. This will help us with our press and playing the higher line defensively.

How are you rating this transfer window? on 12:18 - Aug 28 with 1543 views | homer_123 | We will see at least one (poss two) in before Friday. If you popped that list in front of us fans at the start of the summer - I think two things: 1. Many would have laughed and probably said no way will we sign 'X' 2. I think the vast majority, in fact almost all, would agree those are all, on paper, very good signings So, I think you have to accept that our owners haven't shirked their part, they have certainly ensured KM has funds and moreover, it looks like we have spent wisely. Broken record time from me. I am more impressed that we have kept with our ethos of bringing in players that are the right type and fit, we haven't changed our approach, which would have been easy. Honestly, regardless of whether we stay up or not, it's a very good to excellent window and it's not finished.

Of course - Omari. The players we have signed though, importantly have potential to develop and if you can show your ability off in the premier league, your price tag can very quickly rise. When you see Branthwaite at Everton with a £65m price tag, a left footed English CB, it wouldn't surprise me if similar gets banded about with Greaves later on down the line. That's the type of recruitment we've been doing, but obviously, it's down to the players to take on the step up and perform consistently to start having those conversations.

Slightly depressing that promoted clubs have to buy half a new squad to get to a position where they can compete to finish as high as, say, 15th. The lopsided finances of English football are ridiculous.

How are you rating this transfer window? on 13:16 - Aug 28 with 1156 views | FrimleyBlue | Will only know really come May It's either been a masterclass and we're on our way to a stable prem football club, with players worth on average £50 mill each, or we've built possibly the most exciting championship side ever put together.

How are you rating this transfer window? on 13:21 - Aug 28 with 1125 views | eireblue | I was excited when we managed to get Omari, and thought that was pretty good. If we keep adding in leaders along side Morsy, and in training the old guard keep up standards, to keep pushing the whole team and drilling the KMK tactics, it looks like we have a young team that could do well over the next couple of years.

How are you rating this transfer window? on 13:32 - Aug 28 with 1034 views | BloomBlue | It's ultimately about how these players adapt to the Prem. Taking my rose coloured specs off, this club won promotion last season, so those players were successful. We've mainly added players who weren't successful in the championship last season from a team perspective or failed in the Prem with relegation. With the main exception being Phillips - which is why I think he's the most important transfer. They all have great ability and the chance to continue that improvement. Ideally I would have liked some more 'successful' Prem players in, ie have played in the prem for at least 3 or 4 seasons. Obviously we will know at the end of the season if they did continue their individual and team progress. At the moment I'm 8/10 on potential.
