If Broja’s better than Delap 18:35 - Aug 31 with 1298 viewsthebooks

then Everton got an absolute bargain.

That was fun, wasn’t it? Like watching us last season: relentless, lots of pressure, some good chances, only against a slicker team than we’re used to. We deserved a win.

We’ll adjust to the general PL level and having to defend more, and be fine, I think. Don’t really care what happens if we play like that every week.

Omari plays every position on the pitch. His defensive work is breathtaking.

Kalvin Phillips looked classy – his passing is a bit quicker than everyone else’s. He seemed to enjoy the atmosphere and will fit right in at Town, rather than playing in front of 50,000 moaning Hammers fans or silence at the etihad.

Woolfie is stepping up effortlessly. Jack Clarke has fine shorts. The Morsy turn works in any league, anywhere.

Only gripe is that **every** tackle in the PL is a foul.

Taking the blue specs off....not sure we 'deserved' a win but certainly looked more 'likely' to grab the winning goal as the match went on.

Ade Akinbiyi couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo...

It was a proper game that. If we can match those kind of teams in this league, then we are in a fabulous position. Thought the signs are there that we are a team. Phillips and Morsy were great, Defensively, a unit starting to take shape. As for our front line, so exciting. So much movement and pace. We are going to give a lot of defenses major problems. The strength from the bench is insane. A very, very good team performance. Things are looking a lot brighter all of a sudden. Delap and Hutchinson are going to be our star performers up top this season. Hutchinson can run all day. Delap is developing nicely. Once McKenna has even more time with these guys, we are going to be so good. Loving it.
Anybody trying to pick the bones out of today, have a serious word with yourselves, because today was a very good day and nothing to moan about.

I thought a draw was a fair result, but if any team deserved to win it, it was us.

Fulham are big powerful side with plenty of excellent players but we got into them and got better as the game went on.

Really enjoyable game.

Delap looks a great signing.

Phillips also very good, should we manage to stay up and he stays fit I'd love a player like him to sign permanently seems to get involved with the crowd and put his all in.

Poll: Mick in or out? (not a dig at Mick just want to see the overall opinion on here)

As Frimmers said in another post, we managed our energy really well, and I think we largely controlled the flow of the game. I think they'll analyse that and feel very pleased with themselves, but more importantly they'll realise that they are definitively capable of matching a good number of sides in this division. The controlled confidence will be there, and any residual nerves will have been blown away.
