Nice Nick Ames interview in the paper version of the Observer today which probably down to my ineptitude I can't seem to see online

Thanks both.

Maybe Phil could pin the post given not much else going on this week.

Have to say Jason's book (to whose release the interview is linked) is fantastic – a huge credit to Jason and also to Stuart W. Really recommend it to everybody, you'll learn a lot and there will be a load of stuff Town fans old/young/far/near can all relate to.

Quite surprised to find out it's possible to have even more respect for Simon Milton than I already had, but you live and learn

He did the last 10 or so games after Linighan was injured. Presumably the writer felt that was a bit too much ITFC-specific nuance to explain in his word count.

Ah, I was a bit too young to remember that, thanks. Somewhere I've got a VHS of the run-in to the title, I'll have to dig that (and a video player) out to refresh my memory.

you can read a sample of the book here. Being of a similar age, a lot of his early memories match mine

Enjoyed that, thx.

Dozzie (as called by me and my school mates - no idea if that was his wider nickname?) started his career at a time when we first started going to Portman Rd as a small group, no parents, proper right of passage stuff for us initially in the West stand before braving the Churchmans.

Am pretty sure I missed his debut but I do recall seeing him that season and his skinny legs!

Had no idea he played quite so many games for us, do remember being peeved when he left (Kiwomya too) for the bright lights of North London - but was always going to happen sooner or later.

Nice piece and respect for Milts for helping out a former teammate.

Here's the piece I did with Milts at the time:

Milton: I Knew He Wasn't Right, Straight Away I Rang the PFA 22nd Nov 2019 13:04
Former Blues midfield Simon Milton says he knew all wasn’t well with his friend and one-time team-mate Jason Dozzell but didn’t realise the seriousness of his state of mind until the two had lunch last month. 2
