Whatever happens in the rest of this game. 16:51 - Oct 26 with 1886 viewsTheBoyBlue

We have again shown that we can compete in this league. A threadbare squad, ten men, having lost a 2-0 lead, we have still fought back away at a really good team.

I like your positivity but 0 wins says otherwise.

Releagted teams play well and lose.

Yep.

But still not in the bottom three.

We’ve competed in 7/9 games so far.

We’ve got 4 points.

Competing won’t be enough with that clown in goal.

True-ish and there are definitely positives but we've got to get to grip with defending at this level sooner rather than later. Too easy to score against at the amount of errors leading to goals we're racking up is getting silly.

Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand.

But still not in the bottom three.

We've had a tough start with the fixtures and let ourselves down against two teams we outlined as potential wins. Today just about everything went against us. And a huge absentee list. Yet not cut adrift and indeed as you say still not in the bottom three.

If we can ride this period out and still be in that position then we are in a good place, hopefully with players coming back. A win will give us confidence.

Love the optimism. But today I can’t share it sadly.

Poor teams let in goals with ease (e.g. ten in the last three games) and don’t win games. They also tend to get more injuries strangely - possibly because they are chasing the game? Putting up a fight in the odd game is great. Deserving the odd point: fine. But sadly it’s not nearly enough though what do I know.

Oh well, onwards and upwards. It’s a long season and plenty of games to play.

To be fair, as said above, I think we've put up a fight in six games out of nine. Even against West Ham and Everton, we started well enough but wilted after the second and first goals respectively. Manchester City - well that's to be expected.

But we're aiming at a lower target than previously. We've only got four points, but that's still more than three others, which would be absolutely fine at the end of the season. Of course we can't rely on others continuing their poor start (Palace have an eminently winnable game tomorrow, Wolves showed this afternoon they still have some fight in them) and we do really need to get a win sooner rather than later, but we won't need to win many games to achieve our main objective.

We have shown we are weak and frail and can't even win with a 2-0 head start. 1/4 of the season pretty much gone and we have 4 points. Southampton conceeded 1 today at Man City I'd say that is far more competitive. Likewise Wolves scoring 2 late equalisers.

Need some bodies back for the Leicester game. In terms of performance we did well for 40 min, had a nightmare 5 minute in the first half. It's difficult after we go down to 10 to judge to much, but we stuck in there, took our chance but then had another howler.

I do wonder if we need to give Walton a go over Muric. Might have an impact to calm down the defence in front of him and give them a bit more confidence? I think it has to be seriously considered.

Key thing for me is that against Everton we offered nothing but defensive mistakes and were never even in the game. Today we were much better going forward and should have got something from the game. I'm more confident about the Leicester game now than I was before we kicked off today.

Yet they are in a worse position then us.

Yep, hopefully we'll be fired up for that now.

Yes but improving game by game, not may teams will lose only 1-0 at etihad and they gave Arsenal a good match too. Saints are least of our worries, the gap to 4th bottom is the issue.

What gap? We are fourth to bottom.

If you look at the headline score, yes, but they got absolutely battered today. City were wasteful with their chances.

Sorry fifth bottom, but my point is Wolves and or Palace will improve and we will be adrift.

We are capable of improving too. Today was much better with a huge number of first teamers out.
