Edward Fox's best performance
I don't know why because I can't find it in the script, but I always thought that Edward Fox delivered the line, "It's going to cost you rather a lot of money" in his plummy voice in that filum.

Now I'm wondering where I go that from.
Don't recall that. When Montclair asked him how much it would cost he replies "You must understand that this is a once-in-a-lifetime job, whoever does it can never work again"
Then he asks for half a million.

My so-called brain has been mulling this over, and I think it was someone, possibly John Sessions, doing an impression of Fox.

Brilliant. Thanks for finding that. Anything that gives me a bit of belief that I've not totally lost the plot in an increasingly insane world is very welcome on a personal level! Wibble wibble.

Bit like the Bruce Willis/Jack Black effort - a pale imitation of the original.
As is Gladiator unfortunately - best just to watch the original again. Much better and we all knew what happened before seeing it first time around.
“ As is Gladiator unfortunately - best just to watch the original”
Critiquing a film that isn’t released in Australia til tomorrow, and the Uk on Friday is impressive. Were you at the premiere? Or are you just regurgitating what you’ve read somewhere?
It must be annoying to be as constantly negative as you are, on all subjects.

Its also like trying to compare the MOTD highlights of a game with the full match replay
they are 'the same' but completely different and the series is much more nuanced

Relax the Guardian critic liked it - so it must be a children’s film.
I wonder how he (or she) got to see it when it isn’t out in Australia? It’s almost as though pre-marketing exists.

'Considering you get France in return, I think it rather reasonable' or something like that. Great film, that dapper villain set the standard for dastardly Englishmen to come!

Caught up with it over the weekend, it's ok. A bit of a dodgy plot but I think Eddie Redmayne is very good in it. Some woke bits pissed me off like the deliberate shoehorning in of gay characters and political bias. But other than that I thought it was watchable.
