How often have changes off the bench made a difference this season? 08:47 - Dec 4 with 572 viewstractorboy1978

That's a big difference for me. Over the past two seasons we've been used to being able to switch players around after 65-70 minutes to pick up new energy and impetus. That just isn't happening this season. It's understandable given the relative depth in quality of squad but always feels like we are slowly weakening our team when we make changes at the moment. We are relying on being able to start fast, get ahead in games and then hold out.

Problem is, last season, we brought on players to freshen up a dangerous front line which was tired, this season however, last night a big example, we brought on players in a game where we couldn't get the ball to the front line, our subs didn't actually solve that problem, we just replaced those who didn't get the ball, with other players who couldn't get the ball.

It's partly a lack of power. Picture changes quite a bit if you can introduce Hirst and Ogbene. Definitely a quality issue depth-wise that will naturally take several windows to sort out but we've had a little bad luck on that front too.

We simply put haven’t the quality replacements at this level. We miss Hirst and Ogbene and suggest we will be looking to strengthen in those areas as a priority. The right side, Burns and Clark last night was a big issue for us. Love both players but not going to keep us up here unfortunately. Was a really poor show all round last night tbf so not singling out. Thought Cajuste was our best player and we took him off also for some reason ?!?

He has an ongoing injury to manage. He can't last a full game. Against Forest in the second half he made a great run the length of the pitch and pulled up a bit after it broke down. Was subbed just after.

For the last two years we have made like for like changes.

We need to do something different against Premier League sides, we need a plan B.
