Contrast between the Prem and the Championship 20:17 - Dec 8 with 940 viewsbournemouthblue

In the PL we are competitive for 75 minutes with our first choice players, however when PL sides are allowed to get 5 more PL quality subs into the mix, we can't match them and find the last phase particularly difficult

In the Championship it was us who could get that extra quality on and overwhelm opposition

Last season it was late goals in our favour, this season it's late goals against us

January might bridge that gap a little but I fear we will still have a bit much to do to get back out of trouble

Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!

I find it helps when we make subs before injury time

Agree. The subs need 20 minutes minimum.

It's not actually the opposition scoring more, it is us not scoring more. We concede pretty consistently between the halves. The underlying point is correct though, other teams can deal with our subs better than we can deal with theirs.

McKenna doesn't sub overly early

Obviously everything turned to magic last season but I wish he would make them earlier at times

His Plan A is good and he says this system is adaptable, I'm not convinced it's as adaptable as it could be though, particularly for this level we are now playing

Having been caught earlier in the season chasing a second goal, we do seem to sit back a bit more after we’ve scored. And also run out of steam as the match goes on. A bit of a double whammy. We could do with scoring 3 while we’re on top in first halves!

Besides Brentford and Spurs, we have failed really to open up a lead to make it difficult for the opposition

That is a problem really
