Delap is going nowhere in January 09:23 - Dec 31 with 867 viewsCheltenham_Blue

Unless its early in the window and for mega money of £80m+, there's no way Ashton lets him move when we are fighting to survive and he could single handedly keep us up.

He's also bright enough to know that going to United, Chelsea, Arsenal or anywhere else in the Prem, might spell the end of regular minutes.

I'd imagine Kalvin is already in his ear warning him about how the 'big' move can instantly fall apart.

Two good seasons here and he could be moving to the likes of Madrid for over £100m, so if we could stop with the catastrophising that'd be great.

No unless about it.

Selling him may bring in shed-loads of money, but his value to us and our chances of survival are priceless.

Priceless is an exaggeration and every player has a value.

However, his current value to us is higher than the amount any buying club is likely to risk at this point on him.

There's no way we'd be able to replace him and even if Delap doesn't score for the rest of the season, his stock won't go down given he's playing for a team fighting relegation. There'd be nothing for him to lose waiting until the summer.

Most of the talk is just pundits finding stuff to talk about.

You don't turn down those clubs. Especially if you're as talented as he is and you back yourself. He's got his Dad in the background too, I suspect he's managed his career superbly so far.

The chances of us keeping him in the summer are nearly zero I'd say, this is the reality of being back at the bottom of the division. The benefit is, we can reinvest what we get for him in several players and hope to do it again more than once.

As much as I love the Championship and being a dominant club at that level, the best thing for ITFC is that we stay up and rebuild in the summer. It keeps the Americans in place and able to put more into us, and ensures longer term stability for the club.

We came hurtling up the leagues, we don't want the reverse to happen a la Blackpool or someone.

Worth 200 million plus to stay up going nowhere in Jan.
McKenna needs to stick with 3 centre backs and only one conceded v Arsenal and Chelsea unless Walton has 2 or 3 bad games on the bounce leave Muric on the bench he fills the defence and crowd with anxiety every time he has the ball at his feet.

Lazy media chat drummed up by agents. As boring as the Summer KM saga. He’ll be here next season for our second Prem season - success next year will determine where he ends up start of the ‘26 season.
