I'm not going to lie, PSR outcome is 12:04 - Jan 14 with 1287 views | NeverSayDie | disappointing, it would have been very handy to see a couple of teams around us docked points. We can assume one of two things, that these clubs are now determined to follow the PSR guidance and have implemented strict accounting practices internally, or have simply found another loophole to exploit, I prefer the latter explanation. I daresay these clubs will now feel empowered to spend money on transfers. What's happening with additions to our squad I wonder, links to players seem to have completely dried up in the last few days and we still don't appear to have completed on Phil G, the only player we've agreed a fee for. I can't recall any instances where a player has taken longer than a week to be confirmed, following a successful medical, so I've decided in my head that, if he isn't confirmed by Thursday, then he's not coming at all. It really was vital to get bodies through the door early, another 4 league games would have been and gone by the time the transfer window closes and we don't have the luxury of spare games to make up the deficit in the league, it is very concerning. The fact we failed to sign a 9 we were after in the last window, doesn't fill me with confidence for this, that is considered a more difficult window to navigate. Phil G, or no Phil G, we need at least another 3 players, I sincerely hope the club have a couple of aces up their sleeve and we'll make a couple of left field announcements that catch us all by surprise, because right now, relegation/survival hangs completely on the recruitment team at ITFC IMO.
I'm not going to lie, PSR outcome is on 12:16 - Jan 14 with 1202 views | Swansea_Blue | Loophole by the looks of it, and the league are happy with that as they’ve found them compliant. Whether that loophole is closed we’ll have to wait and see. If not we need to arrange a swap deal for Harry Clarke with Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal. I’m sure they’re worth the same as each other (for accounting purposes, obviously).

I think Yamal and Lewandowski in a straight swap for H Clarke is a fairer outcome for all parties

There surely needs to be an end point with Philogene where we say thanks, but no thanks. Half way through January… this can’t drag on much longer. And while obviously we don’t know the details, as of right now it’s a terrible look for the player.

We are 95% there with the transfer. I'd imagine that will reach a conclusion sooner than any alternative we now start from scratch with. We have this every window with managers wanting to get business done early. It doesn't happen generally unfortunately. Sod all has happened in the PL so far.

I dont care how we stay up. Anyway, if clubs get docked points for breaking the rules you cant say their finishing position before deductions is on merit.

Yes, it's a bit odd the old Phil G scenario, don't really understand what the hold up could be, he's an England age group representative and UK citizen, so there's no tricky International hurdles, seems very peculiar and I notice that Villa are linked by Fabrizio Romano today to have made contact with 2 more players they're trying to sign, so I can't see them wanting to hold things up, they'll need the money for PSR (and to meet their own wage limits no doubt). I know that clubs are still very active in talking to agents for their preferred targets, even whilst a player is in medicals elsewhere etc, so it does make you wonder if his head has been turned a bit by Everton, who were confirmed as making an approach. I see that Delap continues to be a target for Chelsea and reports from journo's reckon they've been in contact with his agent again (2nd time this window) about a move, you do wonder what our resolve is on this front, if they make a £50 million+ approach, it would certainly have to be discussed internally, at the very least, but that would signal that we have basically accepted relegation and are looking to next season in the Championship, which at this stage, doesn't strike me as something our stakeholders would do. *edit - as if by magic, 2 minutes after post, we see news that Emery expressed that they need Phil G to move on for Malen to complete (confirming Villa are keen to get this sorted, as we suspected) so puts the spotlight back on the player/agent really doesn't it? If we stay up after teams are docked points for cheating, and we don't cheat, then it is on merit.

Hmmm, our Phil says deal still expected to go through, so by putting 2 and 2 together and making no PSR breaches (allegedly) it may have been a bit unfair of me to point at the player/agent on this one? Given the success of their clause last time, perhaps Villa have been attempting to enforce a similar one and we are simply not having it, in which case this will be a mexican stand off, cos we desperately need the signing, but they need the dosh to complete Malen, my days, it rumbles on, who backs down first??????
